Sassy Cheryl Challenge #95-Snowman with a Die-Cut

Hello Friends-
It hasn't been lookin too much like winter or the holidays here in the most Northern part of California! So, to help it along, I thought I would enter Sassy Cheryl's challenge-"Snowmen!"

I picked "Cappuccino Snowman," which worked out perfectly, as I wanted to make a special friend a gift card holder that I could put her Starbucks card in!

The challenge is to use a snowman image (Sassy Cheryl Digi-preferred), and a die-cut!

So, here is my take on the challenge, and a special treat for my dear friend-"Misty." Happy New Years!

Recipe:
Copic Markers, Papertrey Ink paper-"Rustic Snowflakes" and "Ocean Tides" cardstock, Glitter, Dew Drops, Rayon Ribbon, Spellbinders Labels 11 Grand Nestabilities

The finished card measures: 5x7 (You can't really see the glitter too well in the photo, but I sprinkled glitter under the snowman's feet and on the snowflake inside the card!

Head on over to Cheryl's blog and take a peek at what the other talented gals have come up with!

December 2011 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

I am soooo excited that I am home and able to participate in this months challenge. The challenge this month is to use some type of leftover materials to create a project. And to really challenge yourself even further, try to create a non-holiday card from your leftovers.

So here is what I came up with! My daughter left some of her wrapping paper at our house, and it was perfect. It is a really nostalgic paper printed on kraft paper. I turned it over and used the backside of the kraft paper-perrr--ffect I must say!

Here is the paper-

And here is my card.

I used the wrapping paper to make the die-cut (mat stack 4) papertrey ink shape. I then embossed it with my perfect dots embossing folder (stampin up). I used some left over paper scraps (papertrey ink-text-style Holiday Flourishes & Swirls). I stamped the sentiment and the house with Papertrey stamp set-(Love Lives Here).

What a fun challenge-loved it!

Have a great week and take a peek at all the other ladies great creations here:

Hello Friends-

I hope the last few months have been good to you and that your holidays were fantastic! I have been missing in action for quite some time and I apologize. I started a new job, and WOW=it has taken me over! I also, was busy making my scrap room over with new cabinets and counters-so nice :)

I thought I finally had found myself from under the work load and the messy scrap room, when suddenly it was holiday time-OMG, what was I going to do. To tell you how suprprised I was to find myself at the holiday season, is an understatement. (I only decorated my tree on Tuesday-and hello Christmas was Fri. for us-so that our kids could go to in-laws, etc.).

I have TWO weeks off work, and I am soooo anxious to scrap and have some fun. I did along with all the chaos, teach a couple of make-n-take events with my good friend Misty! I wanted to show you the fun projects I taught- so here they are:

My first project was a CD Gift Card Holder

My next project was a Shopping Planner. Each page has a pocket with an information list in the pocket (Christmas card list, Who to buy for list and their wishes, sizes, etc. Stockng Stuffer list, and Favorite Recipes.

My next project that we made were gift bags and matching tags.

And my last project was a Holiday Banner

We had a great time at the Make-N-Takes, and the ladies all went home at both events with great presents and useful projects to enjoy throughout the holiday season!
Stay tuned for info. about my next Make-N-Take event (Love Is In the Air)!

Papertrey Ink: Make-It-Monday Challenge #31

Hi Friends-
It's Make-It Monday Challenge time at Papertrey Ink!  I just love these challenges, but do not always have the time to participate. With this Monday being labor day, I made the time and I loved the challenge!!!
Dawn McVey has created a fun challenge this week! She has asked us to use one of Papertrey's stamp sets to create a background paper. Here is my take on this fun idea....

I used "Leaf Prints" stamp set as my background, and "Vintage Picnic" for my focal point.
I colored the basket and pumpkins with my copics. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year! The colors are so yummy!!!

Enjoy and take a peek at all the other great takes on this challenge at:

Note Cards

I have had some fun making several note cards lately and thought I would share a couple with you. I made quite a few with many different papers. I used the same format for all so they would go quickly! I have been trying to build my stash for a quick go to card. That way, if I need a card quickly, I can grab one from my stash and I don't have to worry about having the time to make one. Of course, I always make cards for all my friends and family for those very special occasions. These are cards for those quick thank you's, etc. that I might need on the spur of the moment! So enough said, here they are....

See you soon-Happy craftin!

Birthday Cards

Hi Friends-Wow! Where did the summer go?  I have been missing from action-very busy-but missing from action. That doesn't mean, I wasn't making any cards though! Thought I would share a couple I made for family members this last month.

This was my daughters birthday card. She was a gift card holder!

This was my mom's birthday card. I love the "Wonderful Words" dies from Papertrey ink!

This is my sister's birthday card. I just love "Sassy Cheryl's" Digi images. They are sooo cute and such fun to color too! Here is a close-up of her!

Isn't she sweet......

Yes, lots of birthdays in the month of August to make cards for and we went to Disneyland too! And I was working full time too!  And then a sad note-had a house fire just a couple of days before our trip to Disney. Our propane tank on the B-B-Q blew up and caught the back side of our house on fire and did some damage. We are finally next week going to have new siding, windows, and door put on and then paint the house. So, it was a busy month and that is why I have been missing in action!

Papertrey Ink-Make-It-Monday Challenge #23

This week's challenge at Papertrey Ink is to make a pocket with an edger die on your card. So, this is my take on the challenge-it was a lot of fun-Gotta Love those edger dies!

I used "Edgers #1" die for my pocket edges, and I also used the "Button Up #2" die to make the flowers, and the "Picket Fence" die to make the fence. I used the "Garden Variety" stamp for the grass on the fence, and "Little Bitty Bird" stamp set for the leaves and stem of the flowers, and "Tiny Tags" stamp for the "hello friend" stamp on the small tag.

Enjoy- and take a peek at all the other creative card makers that have joined in the fun:

Card Class-Kits for sale

I can't believe how time is passing me by-where has it gone? I have sold the store-"Scrappin' Friends." I am going back to teaching (this summer a Kindergarten Readiness Program at Turtle Bay Elementary and in the fall, I will be the Director of a new Pre-K program at Turtle Bay). I am very excited about this new adventure, and look forward to getting back into the classroom again. Even though, I will miss your visits to me at the store, I will be seeing you at various scrapbook adventures in town. I am hoping to continue teaching card classes and other various classes as well in the future.
I wanted to pass along this fun card class that I did just this last week. We had a great time, and it was fun to be able to see friends that I have made while at the store. I still have a couple of kits for these cards, so if you are interested, you can contact me at: scrappinfriends.redding@yahoo.com

The kits are $20 (without shipping) and $23 (includes shipping). You recieve 5 card kits (with all materials and photos).

I used the new "Stella and Rose" paper line from My Minds Eye. Love that company and this paperline definately doesn't dissappoint-so many fun patterns and colors that all coordinate!

Have a great weekend. I am off to the Rodeo Parade that we have here in our town today-love seeing all the children's smiling faces and the anticipation of what they will see next!

Use it Tuesday Challenge

Use it Tuesday's challenge this week is to use ribbon (or anything you can tie). I use ribbon almost always, so I thought it would be fun to use something just a little different. I used jute twine to tie knots onto my owl card. This is just another fun way to add a little something extra to a card.

Enjoy-take a peek at what the other gals are doing with ribbon at: http://useittuesday.blogspot.com
