Sassy Cheryl Challenge #95-Snowman with a Die-Cut

Hello Friends-
It hasn't been lookin too much like winter or the holidays here in the most Northern part of California! So, to help it along, I thought I would enter Sassy Cheryl's challenge-"Snowmen!"

I picked "Cappuccino Snowman," which worked out perfectly, as I wanted to make a special friend a gift card holder that I could put her Starbucks card in!

The challenge is to use a snowman image (Sassy Cheryl Digi-preferred), and a die-cut!

So, here is my take on the challenge, and a special treat for my dear friend-"Misty." Happy New Years!

Recipe:
Copic Markers, Papertrey Ink paper-"Rustic Snowflakes" and "Ocean Tides" cardstock, Glitter, Dew Drops, Rayon Ribbon, Spellbinders Labels 11 Grand Nestabilities

The finished card measures: 5x7 (You can't really see the glitter too well in the photo, but I sprinkled glitter under the snowman's feet and on the snowflake inside the card!

Head on over to Cheryl's blog and take a peek at what the other talented gals have come up with!

December 2011 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

I am soooo excited that I am home and able to participate in this months challenge. The challenge this month is to use some type of leftover materials to create a project. And to really challenge yourself even further, try to create a non-holiday card from your leftovers.

So here is what I came up with! My daughter left some of her wrapping paper at our house, and it was perfect. It is a really nostalgic paper printed on kraft paper. I turned it over and used the backside of the kraft paper-perrr--ffect I must say!

Here is the paper-

And here is my card.

I used the wrapping paper to make the die-cut (mat stack 4) papertrey ink shape. I then embossed it with my perfect dots embossing folder (stampin up). I used some left over paper scraps (papertrey ink-text-style Holiday Flourishes & Swirls). I stamped the sentiment and the house with Papertrey stamp set-(Love Lives Here).

What a fun challenge-loved it!

Have a great week and take a peek at all the other ladies great creations here:

Hello Friends-

I hope the last few months have been good to you and that your holidays were fantastic! I have been missing in action for quite some time and I apologize. I started a new job, and WOW=it has taken me over! I also, was busy making my scrap room over with new cabinets and counters-so nice :)

I thought I finally had found myself from under the work load and the messy scrap room, when suddenly it was holiday time-OMG, what was I going to do. To tell you how suprprised I was to find myself at the holiday season, is an understatement. (I only decorated my tree on Tuesday-and hello Christmas was Fri. for us-so that our kids could go to in-laws, etc.).

I have TWO weeks off work, and I am soooo anxious to scrap and have some fun. I did along with all the chaos, teach a couple of make-n-take events with my good friend Misty! I wanted to show you the fun projects I taught- so here they are:

My first project was a CD Gift Card Holder

My next project was a Shopping Planner. Each page has a pocket with an information list in the pocket (Christmas card list, Who to buy for list and their wishes, sizes, etc. Stockng Stuffer list, and Favorite Recipes.

My next project that we made were gift bags and matching tags.

And my last project was a Holiday Banner

We had a great time at the Make-N-Takes, and the ladies all went home at both events with great presents and useful projects to enjoy throughout the holiday season!
Stay tuned for info. about my next Make-N-Take event (Love Is In the Air)!
 Hugs Heidi
