A Place To Sit

I have made a few collages items lately, and I'm loving the process and the end result too! This is my latest project--- it is a bench the secretary of my school asked me to make her daughter-in-law, who just was hired at another school for her first teaching position. She is teaching kindergarten and needed a place to sit for group circle times! Here is what I came up with....

2013 Organization Revolution Challenge

Hi Friends-

I hope the holidays were everthing you hoped for and more! I had a fabulous holiday and time with family and friends that was well needed! My time to go back to work with those happy little faces of the children as they walk through the classroom door is coming oh so quick (on Monday January 7th)-oh my!

My plan for while I was off for these two weeks was to get busy and get organized! I have taken some (much needed) time off from teaching classes at our local scrapbook store, Rock Paper Scissors  and from selling Stampin Up to get things back in order (and it's taken me a week to do it-UGH---thats more than you probably could even imagine-but oh so true)!

So, it is only fitting, that my co-worker emailed me a link to this challenge-and so perfect timing! :) Ask Anna is hosting an office space organization challenge. You can click on her name to get more info.

Here is what I have accomplished (I should have taken before pictures (but....I couldn't find my camera-LOL)! Just imagine only being able to open the door (and where were my counters, my chair, and well you get the picture)---it was unimaginable!

My room is small (10x12) and every inch of it is used! I have put in cabinets from Home Depot. It has helped not only help me with my organization, but helps inspire me as all my needed items now have a storage space and are at my fingertips! :)

To start with...my stamping and punching area.....(I sell Stampin' Up, but love other stamp companies as well, so needless to say this is the largest portion of my room), and these are only a few of my stamps (others are put away in a cupboard)! I have my stamps on the shelving units, along with adhesives and other needed items. In the center are my punches and ink pads. I love the storage of these items, they are easy to take out and put away-within easy reach-gotta love it! I bought them from Stamp-n-Storage. Everything is within easy reach and makes it easy to create and stamp/punch away!

The next most used area in my scrap room is my cutting area. This is where I use my "Big Shot" die cutting machine to cut images for my projects. I keep my Stampin' Up Designer series papers, cardstock collections, and specialty papers in the stacked cubes next to my cutting area. The papers are divided by cardstock color collections and Designer Series  paper collections. In the cutting area are all my different sized plates for the big shot, a grid mat to help in lining up specific dies. In the drawers and cupboards below are dies and stamps for many different companies and housed together for ease when wanting to use them and my "Spellbinders Nestabilities." My printer also sits to the left of my cutting area.

This is my work station where I sit and create after stamping and cutting all the materials needed for a project. This is where I feel the real creativity happens. Behind my table are drawers filled with embellishments (such as buttons, brads, pearls, rhinestones, colored twine, tulle, , ribbons, wool felt, and a large variety of odds and ends that make creating fun)! In the cupboards on either side of my chair hold, 6x6 paper pads, kits that I have prepared and ready to sell or put together for a quick project. On the back of my table are all my tools that are needed to create the projects I am working on (such as scissors, crop-a-dile, adhesive tape gun, tweezers for grabbing those small pieces, and many other such items).

This is the area behind my work table where all my embellishments, embossing powders, etc. are housed. My most favorite part of this area are all the jars filled with ribbons and divided by color. (Yes, I have a lot of ribbon)! I use ribbon on almost every project I do-it makes such a fabulous finishing touch and always gives the perfect little something :) Above this area are samples of layouts that I complete. I always like to hang them up for a while before putting them into my albums!

This is the left side of the closet. I store my Stampin' Up dies, edgelits, embossing folders, and framelits. I also keep other various tools and my 8 1/2x 11 cardstocks from Papertray Ink. In the drawer units are projects that I am working on-these are where I store my projects, so that my work area stays somewhat clean in between times, as I am always working on more than one project at a time. I also store my bag and tools that I take to a class in here as well. I keep my bag and box that I take to classes stocked and ready to go.

This is the right side of the closet. This is where I store papers from other companies and 12x12 cardstock. This is also where I keep larger kits and projects that I am working on.

This picture shows a sample of my cards that I make. Cards are such fun to make and I love how each and every one has its own character and color combination!

So, as you can see, I have a great space to create in and my plan is to enjoy every minute I can in it (well when I'm not working)! :)

HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR
