The Shabby Tea Room-#218 "Tea Party"

Hi There Friends-

This week in The Shabby Tea Room, Tina asks that you create a card or project inspired by the photo and INCLUDE A TEA CUP/TEA POT OR PETIT FOUR/SWEET TREAT, LACE/RIBBON and PEARLS!

Our sponsor this week is Paper Temptress

Here is my card this week:

I love the colors in the photo-so shabby and of course since I drink green tea everyday from my favorite little bistro, this card was a lot of fun to create. I will have to give it to a friend someday with a gift card inside, so we can go and enjoy a cup of tea on me! :)

Hope you will come along and join us in The Shabby Tea Room this week-

Shabby Tea Room Challenge #217-"Pretty Prints"

Goodmoring Monday Friends-

I hope you had a terrific week and you are ready for some more fun in The Shabby Tea Room! This week Debbie is our creative hostess and she has given this fun inspiration photo of "Pretty Prints" made of fabric. So, with that as a jumping off point, she asks that we use the colors in the photo and of course to also include fabric on your card/project!

Our sponsor this week is: Paper Sweeties

I needed to make a card for a friend that has been extra kind this week and I decided this challenge would lend itself perfectly! I used Paper Sweeties stamp sentiment "So Sweet of You," from the stamp set also named "So Sweet of You."

I love the colors in the inspiration photo! Soft, yet full of color and very spring like! Here is my card that I have made for my dear friend-Thanks so much Cathi for being so unexpected this week-so appreciate your thoughtfulness!

My flower is made of fabric that I ironed pellon onto to give it a stiffer consistency to work with and then I added tulle, burlap and a lacey ivory fabric between a couple of layers and of course finished it off with wool felt leaves-(LOVE felt!)

I hope you will come on over to The Shabby Tea Room, to participate and have some fun making your card/project with a fabric touch!

Have a great week and I will see you in The Tea Room!

The Shabby Tea Room Challenge #216- "Tic-Tac-Toe"

Good Morning Friends- I think Spring has officially arrived! Our weather is going to heat up here in Northern Ca. (Into the 90's we go)-UGH!! But it's cooler than summer, so I will take it! Got to have some prep for the summer for sure.

So,this week in The Shabby Tea Room, Shaz is our creative host and she has chosen the theme of 'Tic Tac Toe' along with this beautiful photo for inspiration! Shaz asks that you create a card/project inspired by the photo and select 3 squares in a row to use on your creation either diagonal, vertical or horizontal.

(You may use more than one row of three, but it has to be a complete row.  For example: if you use pennants, fabric and buttons it is 1 row. If you then want to use gingham also, to complete that row you must also use pearls.)

For my card, I used the horizontal middle row (pearls, ribbon, and polka dots), and then I also used the vertical middle row (fabric, ribbon, and flowers). The pearl is on the bunnies eye. The ribbon is green moss seam binding. The polka dots are not only on my bunny, but also on the strip of yellow and white paper. The fabric are my leaves from a ginham fabric and the turquoise tulle behind the flower. and then of course a yellow spring flower to top it off! What a great challenge, and so much fun!! Thanks Shaz, for the great inspiration this week!

Our sponsor this week is Digital Papers by Janet

My bunnie is from her "Bunnies Label" digi. I loved all of the bunnies on this sheet and it was difficult to pick one. I think I am going to have to make some more bunny cards for next year. To think I might get ahead of the game for next year-Haha!

Come play along with us this week in The Shabby Tea Room. I wonder which row you will Tic-Tac-Toe in? Can't wait to see what you come up with :)

Have a great week-Heidi

The Shabby Tea Room Challenge #215- "Pastel Goodness"

Hi There Friends-

Hope your easter weekend was a gereat one, hopefully you celebrated with family and/or friends. This week in The Shabby Tea Room, Diane is our creative hostess and she has provided us with this beautiful pastel inspiration photo. She asks that we use pastel colors only to create a card/project and to include flowers and polka dots.

Our sponsor this week is Creations by AR

I chose to work with a library pocket and tag cut file. I included lots of felt flowers that I cut with one of my dies, and I made a patchwork design out of various paper scraps I had in my stash. It was a fun card to design, and I love how it turned out.

I hope that you all will join us in The Shabby Tea Room this week, and play along with some pastel colors, flowers and polka dots! It is a fabulous and fun combination!

Have a great week-
Heidi

Hi There Friends-

What beautiful weather we are having here in Northern California. I am visiting the beautiful town of Mt. Shasta, just an hour from my house. I will be here enjoying the stunning mountain views for the week and scrapping to my hearts content, while looking up at this majestical snow covered mountain. But, I am on my iPad and having some trouble editing this post. I had it started on Friday last week, knowing I would be gone and would just add last minute details this morning, but my iPad won't let me scroll down in post to continue editing? So, I can only add to the top of my post-sorry. I hope you are busy getting ready for the Easter holiday and will be enjoying some wonderful family time with your loved ones!

This week in The Shabby Tea Room,  Lenet is our creative host and she has chosen the theme of 'Easter Sweetness' along with this beautiful photo for inspiration!   Lenet asks that you create a card or project inspired by the photo and include POLKA DOTS AND/OR STRIPES!

My card features an Easter Bunny Shaped Card file from The Cutting Cafe who is our sponsor this week.

I hope you have a great week and enjoy some crafting time. Come join us The Shabby Tea Room.

The Shabby Tea Room-Challenge # 213-"Floral Fantasy"

Hi There Friends-
Sometimes I just hate technology! I have been out of town for work, and I scheduled this post to go live on Monday Morning, and just got back into town-and guess what? It didn't post for me-UGH!! My apologies!!

This week in The Shabby Tea Room, I am the creative host! I challenge you to use this photo ofcolorful beauty to inspire you as you design a card/project. Please include COLORS FROM THE PHOTO, FLOWERS + RIBBON/LACE!

Our sponsor this week is "Paper Sweeties."

When I found this photo for inspiration, I fell in love with not only the colors, but the perfect bouquet of flowers and new instantly that I wanted to create a card. This is what I came up with:

I paper pieced little Abigail's clothing and colored in the bow on her dress with my Copic markers. I also colored in the watering can and her body and hair using my Copics also. The stamped sentiment is from Paper Sweeties, "Live, Love, Grow."

I hope you enjoyed my card and thanks for visiting me! Now, head on over to The Shabby Tea Room to see what the other designers and our monthly guest designer have created and play along also in our weekly challenge!

Have a great week-

The Shabby Tea Room Challenge #212-"Pretty In Pink"

Hello Monday-

This week over at The Shabby Tea Room, Linda is our creative host and she has provided us with this elegantly beautiful inspiration photo. She asks that we create a card/project with this photo in mind and use the colors white/cream, pink, green, flowers, lace and/or ribbon.

When I saw this photo, it gave me a calm, relaxing, simplicity feel and so I wanted to make a simple card. Ha, Ha-me??? Well, I certainly gave it some effort and this is as simple as I get! LOL

Our sponsor this week is DRS Designs

I chose a stamp that I felt was perfect for this inspiration photo. When I looked at the photo it "brightened my day." So I chose the stamp sentiment, "You brighten my day!"

I hope you will come along and join us this week for this beautiful inpirational challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room!

Have a great week-

The Shabby Tea Room- #211-"Bits and Bobbles"

Hello Friends-

I hope this finds all well and enjoying some sunshine! This week in The Shabby Tea Room, Tina is challenging us to make a card/project with this fun inspiration photo. I love the spring colors, with flowers and birds! The buttons on the card are so fun and unique and just a little bit shabby! :) Along with the inspiration photo, Tina asks that we include buttons, flowers and a print sentiment.

Our sponsor this week, is Digital Papers by Janet Etsy!
 .

For my card, I chose her ribbon spools vintage - digital collage sheet to use on my card. I just love the vintage feel of these spools, with the calligraphy writing, and the flowers and plaid bacground. I also love being able to print these collage sheets out in any size that will work for your card/project-so versatile.

Here is a close-up of the ribbon spool digi collage that I chose. You can see the fun vintage style that this ribbon spool provides. There are several other designs on this digi collage sheet, with different colors and designs.

I hope you enjoyed my card this week and please come and join us in The Shabby Tea Room this week and play along with the fun.

Have a great week-
Heidi

Our sponsor this week, is Bugaboo Stamps.

I chose the digi image "Stella Buttons" to color with my copics. Gotta LOVE Stella!!

I found some great digi printables on pinterest to use on this fun card-perfect to go along with Stella and to give a little vintage feel (cause Stella is old-LOL)! Sew much fun!!

The Shabby Tea Room-Challenge #209 "Spring Is Near"

Happy Monday Friends-

I hope this finds you all and well. I love the title of this week's challenge in The Shabby Tea Room. I am sure, I am not the only one ready for some spring like weather. Although, here in Northern California, we need some more rain-so, I will wait a little longer for spring to arrive and just pretend it's spring and use my creativity to help me enjoy the coming weather and delights of spring!

This week, Aneta is our creative host and she has provided us with this wonderfully beautiful inspirational photo, which definately says "Spring Is Near." She asks we use this photo to give us a jump start into creating a card/project and to also use the color Baby Blue, birds and spring flowers.

Our sponsor this week is "The Cutting Cafe."

The Cutting Cafe

They carry some fun digi stamp prints and some great cut files that can either be cut with your machine or by hand. Take a peek at their great selection.

For my card this week, I chose to use a cut file with a pocket on it, so that I could fill it with pretty blue flowers. I always remember as a child in Kindergarten, when I hung a pocket of flowers that I had picked in the field on my way home one day, on my mom's kitchen door knob. Ofcourse it was May Day-but this pocket reminded me of that special memory and obviously, I had to indulge myself in that little thought, as I made my card this week. Ahhh....to be young again, when the days were so simplistic, and life was fun and so easy!

Ok, I know get on with it already-sorry, memory lane took me out of my reality for a moment :) Here is my finished creation (with a little memory lane wrapped up in it)!

I love the soft blue of the pocket and the little garden seeds and all the little extra gardening materials! What a fun card this was to create! I am sure you will all want to put your creative juices to work this week, with this fabulous challenge theme!

By the way, I almost forgot, we have three new Design Team members on board with us. Diane Hover - Nellie's Nest and Lenet Mos - To Scrap or Not to Scrap, That is the Question and Sharon Gregory (Shaz) - Simply Shaz. Welcome ladies and I know you will enjoy playing with us in the next few months with all of our inspiration and designs!

So, come on over to The Shabby Tea Room, and join all of us Design Team members this week!

Have a great week-
Heidi

The Shabby Tea Room Challenge #208- "Pretty Polka Dots"

Hello Friends-
This week in The Shabby Tea Room, there is a hint of spring coming our way. Debbie is our hostess and she is asking that we use the theme "Pretty Polka Dots," and this fun inspiration photo. You can make a card or a project and don't forget to include "Polka Dots" in your creation.

I love the colors in this photo and with our wet dreary weather, this photo reminded me, that spring is just around the corner! I also, just happen to love, love, love polka dots, so it was a fun challenge this week.

Our sponsor is "Paper Sweeties."

With that, I used Thanks Berry Much stamp set and sweet little Emma from the Paper Sweeties collection. I stamped and paper pieced the little dress from the stamp set and colored Emma with my copic pens.

Here is my creation! "Welcome Spring," full of color and fun "Pretty Polka Dots!"

Come play along in this fun challenge and take a peek at what our other designers have come up with this week in The Shabby Tea Room

Have a great week-

The Shabby Tea Room-Challenge #207 "Wishy Washy"

Hello Friends-

This week in The Shabby Tea Room, Tina is our hostess. She asks that we create a card/project using this fun inspiration photo and "Washi Tape."

Our sponsor this week is "Digital Papers by Janet Etsy"

Janet has some very unique digital images in her shop to choose from. I chose to use "Vintage Tickets."

I love the ticket with the chocolate cake on it and it's perfect for a very special occasion! One of the ladies I play Bunco with each month, is turning 80 on Tuesday, so the card I made for this challenge is for her!

I also had the perfect "Washi Tape" to go with the little ticket. Can you see it on the bottom left "De Chocolat"-perfect, don't ya think! I love it when things just go together so easily!

Well, have a great week and don't forget to join us for some fun in The Shabby Tea Room this week!

The Shabby Tea Room- #206 "Baby"

Hello Friends-

So, I am trying to get caught up, organized, work all day, and stay sane! LOL (or I might cry)!

This week our challenge here at The Shabby Tea Room, is the theme "Baby." How fun and what great joy this week gave me.

Not only did I get a little organized, so I could play catch up, but I also found out my daughter is expecting her 3rd baby! She lives in Georgia, as her husband is in the military, and so I don't get to see them often, but we talk weekly/daily/or as often as possible with her busy life! It is a miracle that she can even have children, as she has a condition called Factor V Leiden. This is a genetic trait, and causes blood clots, which in turn causes miscarriages when pregnant. It took 4 very painful miscarriages to discover the problem. In order to continue the pregnancy, she has to give herself shots daily to keep from miscarrying.

So, needless to say, we are all very happy, but nervous, and this challenge was perfect timing!

Here is our inspiration photo for the week. So shabby, and fun and full of wonderful baby colors!

Our sponsor this week is Creations by AR.
We were able to choose a 3D template that goes along with this week's theme "Baby."

I chose a baby onesie to work with as my card base. I think my card is leaning more towards a girl??? (we won't know for a while, as she is only a couple of months along). What do you think?

Well, either way, I am sending it to wish her congratulations! She has two beautiful little girls already, but we don't care, as long as it's healthy! Love you daughter dear.

Have a great day, and come play along too in The Shabby Tea Room challenge this week!

Heidi

Shabby Tea Room Challenge #205 "Sketch This"

Hi All-
I am a week behind!!!!! :(

Even though this challenge was last week, I will be making and posting a card later today! I have been moving and all my materials were boxed and in transit or at my new place, with no idea where they were at?
Here was our challenge photo. We were asked to create a card/project using this sketch.

The sponsor this week was "Paper Temptress"  She carries some great papers and we were able to choose from her wide collection, some pieces to work with.

Stay tuned to see what I come up with (a week late-so sorry)!
Have a great day!

Hey there friends-

I can't believe it is February already-Wow! This week over at The Shabby Tea Room, I am the hostess this week. I chose the theme, "All That Glitters In Love." I found this adorable inspiration photo that was just perfect for the title of the theme.

Don't you agree! I had fun with this challenge, but under a little time constraint this week, and had to quickly get it done and low and behold forgot my favorite sponsor for the week! (Soooooo sorry Debbie)!

Here is my card (I will make a new one on Tuesday to post with "Paper Sweeties" product! (Stay Tuned for the fun!)

I decided to make a valentines Shaker card for this week challenge. I love the combination of colors and the fun whimsy of the glitter, hearts and flowers!

Here is the shaker up close (filled with paper hearts, glitter, bead sequins, and little glitter hearts! So much fun and I love how it turned out (if I do say so myself)~ :)
