I hope you all had a fabulous Holiday. We did-our grandkids and all of our children and spouses were home this year for the first time in five years! It was sooo wonderful. The grandkids are sooo loveable and spoilable! Loved every busy moment!

Hello Everyone-
Hope your holiday prep. is going well. I thought I would share one of the most recent classes I taught at Scrappin' Friends. It is a cute "Family" blocks set from "Carolee's Adorn-It."
I used the "Vintage Groove" collection (which they have at Scrappin Friends) and the block kit from Adorn-It. I added some fun embellishments and little tag sayings from the paper line. It turned out so cute-and the ladies had a great time making them.
See you soon-Heidi

Sentimental Sundays is hosting a great challenge featuring "Childhood." What a perfect challenge for me as I am a past educator. Children are so carefree and life is so simple. This Edwin card is one I made a while back, but it reminds me of those carefree days when children could run and play outside. Edwin looks as if he's having a blast!

Be sure to check out their blog to see what great creations others have come up with- http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.com/

Enjoy your day-Heidi

7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog is hosting "Challenge #8 Give Thanks."

What a fabulous challenge they have created this week. I am sooo excited to be able to enter one of my favorite cards that I created for my class that I taught at Scrappin' Friends Scrapbook Store.
I used Magnolia's "Standing Fall Tilda" for this design. I just love this stamp, she's so cute bundled up in her hat and scarf. She looks like she's ready for a fall walk along the river.
I colored the image with my Kooh-I-Noor Woodless colored pencils and mineral spirits.

Other ingredients:
Paper: Basic Grey-"Pyrus"
Buttons: Papertrey Ink
Cardstock: Bazzill
Twine and Chestnut Roan chalk ink

Be sure to visit http://7kidschallengeblog.blogspot.com/ to see all of the other gals amazing entries as well. Have a fantastic week and good luck to all!

Busy, Busy, Busy-

Thought I would let you know, my cards are now for sale in the "Enjoy the Store." If you aren't familiar with this new store, it is in downtown Redding, across from Leatherby's Family Creamery. It is a store owned by the "Enjoy" Magazine, and showcases local artists work. It was a juried selection to be in the store, and my cards were chosen. I am very honored to have been asked to be a part of this very classy establishment. There are many talented artists in the store-so be sure to go and take a look.

Cosmo Cricket's blog is hosting a fun challenge. The challenge requires the use of either using papers from "Mitten Weather", or "Jolly By Golly" paper lines. I made a really fun picture frame using the "Jolly By Golly" paper line. The photo is my grandson seeing snow for the first time at age 1 1/2, doesn't my son look sooo excited-LOL!

Where did the summer go?

So, for those of you who may still be out there-but have given up on me........
I am still alive and well, a little crazy-but that's life (at least mine)! :)

So, a little update is in order-
I have been very busy creating cards and getting ready for a new store here in Redding to open. It is called "Enjoy the store." It is a gift store for local atisans to sell there wares. Artists selling in the store have been hand chosen through a jury selection process. YAHOOO- My cards were chosen. It has been a very long process, but the store is opening this month, soooo, I have been busily creating. I have completed 10 different designs, with a total of 100 cards to be in the store to begin with-hope it all works well for all!

I will posting samples in the next few days for you to see. If you are interested in purchasing them, I am working on an etsy shop, which I hope to have up and running in the next few weeks -so keep your eyes here for that also. (PS>Scrappin' Friends (my scrapbook store-is doing well and is keeping me very busy also teaching classes, etc.). No time for boredom in my corner of the world :)

See you soon-hope this finds all of you well!

Just had to add this cute bicycle that is a sample at Moxie Fab! Just toooooo darn cute! :)

This was a super fun challenge for me, I love to ride my bike and as we live in the country, this pic of the bike reminds me some of my bike (minus the little rack on the back)! Love to pedal down the road to a friends and go through her garden and bring it back home in my little basket (or maybe bring her something from my garden too)!

So back to the challenge (sorry, just a little daydream there)!

The challenge was to use a bicycle in an innovative way-soooo here is my take:

Materials Used:
Cardstock: PTI Vintage Cream
Decorative Paper: October Afternoon “Fly A Kite,” Adorn It “Rumble Collection”
Stamps: Unity “August KOTM,” Angel Company “Life Thoughts”
Ink: PTI “True Black” Perfect Match Hybrid Ink
Embellishments: Ribbon, PTI Buttons and Rustic Twine
Enjoy the day-Heidi

Wednesday Stamp Club - Color Challenge

This week the color challenge from My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club is red, green and yellow.
The inspiration is pulled from this week's VIP collection and challenges us to use the color found in the Ruffled Ribbon Garden Collection.

So, since I love this paper from Cosmo Cricket, I decided to play along. I used one of CC Desings from MFT's "Swiss Pixie Birgitta" stamp, and "Garden Variety" paper from Cosmo Cricket.

My little girl is colored with woodless colored pencils and mineral spirits. She's soooo stinkin cute! This was a very fun challenge-love, love, love the colors!

Have a hap, stamp, happy day!

Heidi

Block of Friends

This card is inspired by Moxie Fab Worlds Trigger Tuesday color challenge

So, this is my creation. I used Cosmo Cricket "Material Girl," Papertrey Ink stamp set "Quilters Sampler." I loved the colors in this pillow. What a great inspiration!

It is a very rainy day here in Northern California, so decided what a perfect day to do a challenge!

Lisa Johnson over at Poppy Paperie is hosting her first challenge.

The first challenge requires the use of: crystals, flower stamp, and yellow.

Here is my take on this challenge:

I used basic grey and october afternoon papers. My bling is in the center of the flowers! Enjoy!

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Here is my latest layout. I used Cosmo Crickets "Nutmeg." This was a picture of my daughter and son at Burney Falls here in Northern Ca. just before he left to go back to Iraq for another 6 months. It was so hard to see him go back and he had such a hard time going back also! They have a close relationship and it is one of my favorite pictures of the two of them together.

Saturday, February 20, 2010

Hope everyone is having a great weekend-what a beautiful sunny day it is today! LOVE IT!! Thanks so much for your kind words-I love what I do and hope it shows in my work!

I am going to submit my first Sketch challenge and color challenge at "Magistical Memories."

The color challenge is to use 3 colors (red, white, pink) and encourage to use hearts but not necessary, and to use the word "Love."
So here is my challenge layout! I was going to do a card, but had to use these pictures of my grandkids-as my title says, "What's not to love" I definately find Joy in them each and every day! They are so much fun-Whoever said, "Grandkids are more fun than your own" was not kidding-even though I love my kids oh so much also!

Here is the sketch challenge!

And this is my take on the sketch!

See you soon-Heidi

Welcome to my Blog!!

I have decided that I needed a blog of my own seperate from the store blog. If you don't know about my store-I own "Scrappin' Friends" in Redding, California. I am a new store, only 5 months old. Follow the link http://scrappinfriends-redding.blogspot.com/ to see what is happening there! It is so exciting to see all the new papers coming out from CHA-can't wait to get my sticky fingers on them!

Have you seen the new papers from Cosmo Cricket? Well here are a couple of projects I did with them. The papers are soooo cute! Love them!!

In this layout I used the new "Joy Ride." What fun this was to design, I can just imagine the grandkids coming down the hill to the valley and asking, "Are We There Yet?" So in honor of them-this is what I came up with. I have asked my daughter for pictures of them riding in the car, hopefully she will take some soon so that I can add them to this page layout!
This is Cosmo Crickets "Garden Variety." I absolutely love this paper, it si so vibrant!

This card is the first of a set (I will post the rest of set when I get them completed). I used "Material Girl." This paper is oh-so cute also! I wish I had pictures of my mom sewing for me when I was little, they would have been perfect for a page layout! But, I wanted to show everyone, that you don't always have to use paper to make page layouts, they make cute cards also!

Thanks for visiting!
Heidi
